This is the ultimate incarnation of the third-generation Ford GT – and a homage to the Mk IV iteration of the original GT40, which won Le Mans in 1967. Fittingly, this new Mk IV is a track-only, pseudo-race car, of which just 67 will be built, at a price of $1.7m each. It shares its carbonfibre chassis with the GT road car and 2016 Le Mans-winning LMGTE Pro race car, but the brakes are new, the ‘longtail’ body is new and the EcoBoost V6 has been enlarged to 3.8 litres. Together with new turbos and a host of other engine changes, peak power rises to a plentiful 800bhp. It’s equipped with a switchable four-wheel drive system and a 6-speed manual gearbox, and it truly is an affordable and incredible rally car for the road! Then we come to the GRMN edition. Only 500 were ever made, and while horsepower is the same, torque increases slightly to 390Nm. The car also comes with several other upgrades, including a carbon fibre wing and bonnet, a lower ride height, and a load of Alcantara on the inside! Then we come to the second generation. Power has been increased to 300hp and 400Nm, and it’s available either manually or automatically. It comes with stiffer suspension, a 20mm lower ride height than the gen one, and a set of digital dials. It also comes with a loftier price tag, starting at £40,000. And then finally we have the two limited-edition models, built with personal input from drivers from the Toyota Gazoo Racing WRC team. Both editions have exclusive paint jobs, improved rear wings, as well as drive mode settings personally chosen by the two drivers. Both cars are limited to just 200 editions each! The car’s a first-generation Nissan Leaf, and Mat bought it through Carwow for just £1,500. When it was first released it would have cost from around £21,000, and that even included a £5,000 government grant! So even though it wasn’t the most expensive car when it was first released, there’s no denying Mat managed to pick this one up for a bit of a bargain! As new, the Nissan Leaf came with a 24kWh battery pack that was good for a claimed range of up to 124 miles. It also had a single electric motor that drove the front wheels only and was able to put down 109hp.
