I shipped my rebuilt car halfway across the world - and the engine blew before the show
After rebuilding a wrecked car in just 24 hours and fitting an extreme wide-body kit, the creator shipped it from the UK to Los Angeles with plans to drive it to Las Vegas for SEMA. The 691-horsepower car initially ran perfectly, but during a half-mile race against a roughly 700-horsepower rival, it suddenly entered limp mode at over 100 mph, produced heavy smoke, stalled and left the engine completely seized. Further inspection revealed missing coolant, an unusually high oil reading and several spark plugs soaked in coolant, while one plug was badly damaged, suggesting a serious internal engine failure. The team initially wondered whether a previously outstanding turbo oil-line recall was involved, but the turbos appeared intact and the exact cause remained unclear. With the car stranded thousands of miles from home and SEMA beginning the following day, the team was left trying to determine what had destroyed the engine and how they could get the rebuilt car back on the road.

This Corolla hybrid gets faster without losing efficiency
The Toyota Corolla 2023 facelift brings sharper styling, better technology, and a much improved fifth generation hybrid system. Despite the bad news, they install HKS upgrades including a custom exhaust, high-flow filter, new spark plugs, lambda sensor, and an upgraded ECU. After some adjustment, the little turbo engine sounds far more aggressive, with the goal of raising power from 63 HP to around 100 HP.
